Actor Naveen Kaushik, who portrays Donga in the film Dhurandhar, shared his insights on collaborating with Akshaye Khanna. He described Akshaye's performance as “a magnificent revelation,” admiring his depth, discipline, and remarkable presence on set.
Having been a long-time fan of Akshaye's previous works, Naveen found it inspiring to see his return in projects like Dhurandhar. “He reconceptualized his career with extraordinary focus and infused each scene with unique depth,” Naveen remarked.
He emphasized Akshaye's partnership with the director as a demonstration of artistic balance. “He grasped the director's vision impeccably while infusing his personal touch. Observing his confidence and preparedness was simply remarkable,” he noted. Akshaye's “zen-like” approach allowed him to imbue his intense character with striking precision.
Numerous awe-inspiring moments occurred on set, from Akshaye’s delicate performance in a poignant hospital scene to an unexpected emotional outburst in a market sequence—all contributing to the depth of his character.
During musical sequences, he kept everyone engaged and lively. In a festive village song, he joyfully danced, executing several takes, exemplifying his adaptability and vivacity.
For Naveen, collaborating with Akshaye transcended mere acting—it became a profound learning journey. “Witnessing someone make a comeback after a hiatus and delivering such layered performances is true inspiration. His resurgence is truly deserved,” he concluded.
