Northern Borders Region Highlights at the 10th King Abdulaziz Camel Festival

Post by : Maya Rahman

Following the guidance of Prince Faisal bin Khalid bin Sultan, the Northern Borders Region is energetically participating in the 10th King Abdulaziz Camel Festival. A dedicated pavilion has been established within the Ministry of Interior’s Security Oasis Exhibition to shine a light on the region's rich cultural heritage and modern living standards. It has swiftly gained popularity among festival-goers eager to discover the region's unique identity and traditions.

Visitors can engage with various traditional activities that express the vibrant cultural essence of the Northern Borders Region. One notable attraction is the northern Daha dance, performed by local groups, bringing joy to attendees. The pavilion also features demonstrations of falconry, offering insights into one of the Kingdom’s most revered historical sports. The melodic tones of the rababa instrument provide an authentic cultural ambience, immersing visitors in the region’s artistic legacy.

A particular focus within the pavilion is dedicated to showcasing northern hospitality, especially through the cherished tradition of Saudi coffee. This section details its preparation methods, serving etiquette, and the cultural significance that coffee embodies in Saudi life. Guests can understand how this beloved beverage symbolizes warmth and connection, reinforcing the vital social fabric of the region.

By participating in this event, the Northern Borders Region aims to celebrate its local heritage, boost cultural tourism, maintain cherished traditions, and express community pride. The pavilion not only enhances the festival's appeal but also amplifies the region's visibility and cultural representation at one of Saudi Arabia's premier events.
