High-Level Talks Between Oman’s Sultan and PM Modi to Enhance Trade Relations

Omani Sultan Haitham bin Tarik welcomed Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi today at Al Barakah Palace, where they engaged in official discussions aimed at reinforcing the enduring partnership between Oman and India. The meeting signified their shared intent to elevate strategic relations and identify fresh areas for collaboration.

The talks included a review of their existing bilateral cooperation, highlighting the necessity to enhance trade and investment avenues. The leaders discussed ways to foster economic and social growth, reflecting a common vision for mutual prosperity driven by sustainable development.

Key sectors such as energy, technology, logistics, and food security were focal points. They deliberated on projects that aim to enhance efficiency, spur innovation, and promote long-term economic resilience. The discussions also touched on boosting agricultural production and manufacturing investments, crucial for meeting future market demands.

Cultural and educational exchanges emerged as a priority during their conversation. The leaders underscored the importance of strengthening people-to-people connections and knowledge sharing as a means to deepen ties between their nations. Initiatives in education and cultural programs were also explored as part of this collaborative framework.

Additionally, the dialogue addressed pressing regional and global issues, emphasizing the importance of jointly fostering peace and stability. Both leaders expressed a commitment to tackling global challenges through diplomatic and cooperative measures.

Attending the official session were senior officials from both countries, including ministers from Oman’s Royal Office, Finance, and Foreign Affairs, as well as India's Minister of External Affairs and Commerce. Their participation underscored the commitment of both nations to progress in bilateral ties and establish long-term strategic partnerships.
