Paris Jackson Discusses Sobriety and Nasal Health Issues

Paris Jackson Discusses Sobriety and Nasal Health Issues

Post by : Meena Ariff

In a heartfelt social media video, Paris Jackson, aged 27, reflected on her ongoing battle with addiction and disclosed a health issue she continues to navigate as she maintains her sobriety. The singer and actress revealed she has a perforated septum, a condition that her followers might have observed in some of her older videos, which features a hole in the cartilage between her nostrils.

Using her phone’s flashlight to illuminate the hole, she shared, “It is from what you think it’s from… don’t do drugs, kids.” Despite adding a humorous touch by mentioning she could fit a spaghetti noodle through, Jackson stressed the serious toll drugs took on her, asserting, “Drugs ruined my life.”

Jackson, who has been nearly six years sober, has lived with this perforated septum since she was 20 years old. She indicated that while the condition occasionally complicates her music recordings, she has opted against surgery due to the potential risks associated with the drugs needed for such a procedure.

Her comments followed her acceptance of the Shining Star Award at the Friendly House Awards Luncheon, where she reflected on her sobriety journey. “I’m truly thankful to be part of a movement that resonates with my higher purpose and the core of my daily reprieve,” Jackson expressed. “Encouraging someone to establish conscious contact has been the most significant step I’ve ever taken, and I hope to continue aiding others.”

As the only daughter of pop legend Michael Jackson, she is alongside her siblings Prince Michael Jackson, 28, and Bigi Jackson (formerly known as Blanket), 23.

Jackson’s candid revelations bring attention to the challenges of addiction and its lasting effects, underlining her dedication to sobriety and advocacy. By sharing her experiences, she aims to highlight the perils of substance abuse and motivate individuals to pursue healthier lifestyles.
