PM Modi Celebrates Rajinikanth's 75th Birthday and Cinematic Legacy

Prime Minister Narendra Modi conveyed heartfelt wishes to actor Rajinikanth on reaching the milestone of 75 years, commending his remarkable contribution to Indian cinema. Modi emphasized Rajinikanth’s extensive five-decade career, his unforgettable roles across various genres, and the inspiration he has instilled in numerous fans.

This year also commemorates Rajinikanth’s 50th anniversary in films, a milestone recognized at the 56th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa, where he was honored with the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin also extended warm greetings, applauding Rajinikanth’s lasting charisma, referring to him as both a friend and the eternal “Thalaiva.”

Born Shivaji Rao Gaekwad on December 12, 1950, Rajinikanth transitioned from a bus conductor in Bengaluru to one of Asia’s most significant entertainers. His film career began with Apoorva Raagangal (1975), leading to successes like Moondru Mudichu, Mullum Malarum, Billa, Moondru Mugam, and Padikkadavan, where his distinctive style and commanding screen presence established him as a cultural icon.

The 1990s solidified his legendary status with blockbusters such as Annamalai, Baashha, Muthu, and Padayappa. Muthu was a remarkable hit worldwide, particularly in Japan, garnering him fans globally. During the 2000s and 2010s, he starred in major hits like Chandramukhi, Sivaji, Enthiran, and 2.0, raising the technical and commercial benchmarks in Indian films.

Beyond his cinematic achievements, Rajinikanth is renowned for his humility, spiritual demeanor, and deep connection with fans. His efforts have been honored with esteemed accolades, including the Padma Bhushan, Padma Vibhushan, and the Dadasaheb Phalke Award, reinforcing his position as a true icon of Indian entertainment.

Fans, political figures, and industry personalities worldwide participated in the celebrations, wishing him a prolonged and healthy life. Rajinikanth’s journey continues to motivate millions, and his profound influence on culture, cinema, and society remains unparalleled, securing his status as one of the most revered individuals in the entertainment landscape.
