Kyiv, Ukraine, November 30, 2025 – In a devastating overnight assault, Russia launched a massive wave of missile and drone strikes across Ukraine, killing at least two people and injuring more than twenty, Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha reported on Saturday. The attacks struck homes, critical infrastructure, and the energy grid, while the world continues discussions over a potential peace plan for the ongoing conflict.
Sybiha described the scale of the attacks, stating that Moscow fired dozens of cruise and ballistic missiles along with over 500 drones targeting civilian areas and essential services. Explosions rocked the Ukrainian capital, Kyiv, throughout the night, leaving one dead and fifteen others wounded, according to the city’s mayor.
The strikes come amid ongoing negotiations between Kyiv and Washington, with the United States seeking to mediate a peace agreement to end Russia’s nearly four-year-long war in Ukraine. While Ukraine and its European allies are committed to achieving peace, Kyiv has resisted certain terms, refusing to withdraw from occupied territories and seeking to maintain the country’s future right to join international alliances.
“While everyone is discussing points of peace plans, Russia continues to pursue its ‘war plan’ of two points: to kill and destroy,” Sybiha wrote on X, emphasizing the relentless nature of Moscow’s attacks despite diplomatic efforts.
The latest assault highlights the continued dangers faced by civilians in Ukraine as Russia intensifies its attacks on major cities and strategic infrastructure. Authorities have urged residents to remain vigilant while emergency services respond to damage caused by the overnight strikes.
This attack underscores the urgent need for a resolution to the conflict, as the humanitarian toll continues to mount in Ukraine, with thousands displaced and essential services disrupted across the country.
