On November 30, His Highness Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Development and Fallen Heroes’ Affairs, presided over a heartfelt tribute at Wahat Al Karama as the UAE commemorated its martyrs on Commemoration Day. This ceremony exemplified the nation's profound respect for those who sacrificed their lives for their country.
The event, arranged by the Office of Development and Martyrs Families Affairs, commenced with a moment of silence dedicated to the fallen heroes. Attendees collectively honored the brave men who devoted their lives to the nation's service, fostering an atmosphere filled with unity and contemplation. The spiritually significant location of Wahat Al Karama, recognized for its remarkable architecture and role in honoring national service, deepened the solemnity of the occasion.
Sheikh Theyab also observed the ceremonial raising of the UAE flag, followed by the national anthem—one of the most poignant moments of the event. The flag symbolized the valor and unwavering duty exhibited by the martyrs, while the anthem reinforced a shared sense of pride among the leadership, government, and citizens.
The ceremony underscored the core values of the UAE’s national identity—gratitude, resilience, and solidarity. Families of the martyrs, officials, and attendees gathered to honor those who fell in the line of duty, emphasizing the collective responsibility to preserve their legacy.
Sheikh Theyab articulated the importance of Commemoration Day, reaffirming the commitment of the leadership to provide ongoing support and care to the families of martyrs. His participation underscored the UAE's enduring tradition of honoring its heroes through remembrance and national unity.
The observance at Wahat Al Karama once more highlighted that the sacrifices of the UAE’s martyrs are a vital part of the nation’s collective past and its aspirations for the future.
