Abu Dhabi: His Highness Sheikh Zayed bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan graced the Games of the Future 2025 held at the ADNEC Centre, emphasizing Abu Dhabi’s emergence as a key player in pioneering sports, gaming, and cutting-edge technology.

This global event, organized by ASPIRE with ADNOC's backing, featured over 850 athletes from more than 60 nations. Competitors showcased their skills across 11 unique disciplines, including martial arts, football, drone racing, and robotics, with a total prize fund nearing US$5 million.

During his tour, Sheikh Zayed witnessed various phygital competitions—an innovative blend of physical prowess and virtual gaming. These hybrid sports require athletes to merge strength and endurance with digital capabilities, demonstrating how technology is revolutionizing traditional sports and e-gaming.

Sheikh Zayed remarked that hosting the Games of the Future signifies Abu Dhabi’s dedication to adapting to the swift advancements in sports and creativity. He highlighted the emirate's ongoing commitment to fostering innovation and tech integration to create a future-ready environment for the youth and emerging talents.

The Games of the Future also provided a stage for both local and international organizations to unveil groundbreaking advancements in hybrid sports, robotics, AI, and drone tech. Notable participants included the Abu Dhabi Sports Council and the UAE Cybersecurity Council, along with various academic institutions.

Among them, Abu Dhabi University is pioneering the region's first Bachelor of Arts in Video Game Design, aimed at enhancing the gaming sector and fortifying Abu Dhabi's digital economy, all while aligning education with future industry demands.

By hosting events like the Games of the Future, Abu Dhabi reinforces its status at the forefront of innovation-led sports and entertainment, merging physical challenges with digital transformation.
