Shriya Saran Calls Out Impersonator Misusing Her Identity

Shriya Saran Calls Out Impersonator Misusing Her Identity

Post by : Meena Ariff

Actor Shriya Saran expressed her dismay upon finding out that someone is pretending to be her and reaching out to people for work. She took to social media to demand the impersonator cease their actions: “Please stop contacting people and wasting their time.”

On Wednesday, she shared a screenshot of the fraudulent phone number that included her photo. She commented, “Whoever this fool is, please stop contacting people and wasting their time! It’s quite bizarre. I feel horrible for bothering others.”

The Drishyam 2 actress cautioned everyone to be vigilant, mentioning the impersonator even reached out to individuals she respects. “This is not my number! On a brighter note, it’s peculiar that they are contacting people I look up to! What a waste of time! Why not find something meaningful to do instead of impersonating someone?” she continued.

Shriya also posted a scam alert on her Instagram Stories: “Beware… This is fake! I’m receiving calls from friends regarding someone attempting to impersonate me. Please avoid this fake number for any work-related communications or bookings. No payments should be made!”

Fans expressed their concerns in the comments, offering her support and recommending that she report the number to cybercrime agencies. One fan noted, “It must be incredibly frustrating to see someone misuse your identity and disturb others like this. You’re handling it with such grace—no impersonator can match your warmth and dignity.” Others encouraged her to file a formal complaint to put an end to the scam.

This year, Shriya made a special appearance in the Tamil romantic action thriller Retro, directed by Karthik Subbaraj, alongside stars such as Suriya and Pooja Hegde. She also featured in the Telugu fantasy action film Mirai, directed by Karthik Gattamneni, which starred Teja Sajja, Manchu Manoj, Jagapathi Babu, Ritika Nayak, and Jayaram.

Shriya is married to Andrei Koscheev, and they have a daughter named Radha.
