Following actor Govinda's discharge from CritiCare Hospital in Mumbai, his wife, Sunita Ahuja, revealed that she only became aware of his hospitalization by watching an interview online. In her recent vlog, Sunita explained that she was out of the city and was uninformed about the late-night health scare.
Govinda Collapses at Home, Taken to Hospital
This week, Govinda collapsed at home around 1 a.m. and was rushed to the hospital. After undergoing a series of tests and being monitored, he was allowed to leave later that day. Upon his discharge, he reassured the press that he was “completely okay.”
Sunita, who was traveling at the moment, noted her disconnect from the situation. Addressing a fan's concern, she said,
“Govinda is in perfect health. He fainted while working out for his upcoming film Duniyadaari.”
‘He Pushed Himself Too Hard,’ Says Sunita
She further remarked that she had only learned of her husband's health episode after watching his interview upon returning home and that his fainting was a result of fatigue from overexertion.
“He’s doing well now; there's no need for worry,” she assured her fans.
Govinda himself remarked post-discharge that his fainting was due to “fatigue,” also suggesting that people should incorporate yoga and pranayam into their daily routines.
Sunita Addresses Govinda's Apology Concerning the “Chor” Comment
Sunita Ahuja has frequently made headlines for her candid remarks about her relationship with Govinda and their long-standing marital challenges. In the same vlog, she touched on a recent controversy from a podcast where she recounted a personal story, using the term “chor.”
After the ensuing backlash, Govinda publicly apologized to one of their family priests, a move that Sunita disapproved of.
She clarified:
“I didn’t like how Govinda apologized so publicly. I never mentioned anyone’s name. I was simply sharing a personal event. If it upset anyone, I apologize but Govinda shouldn’t have had to apologize publicly.”
Sunita mentioned that Govinda has many priests, and she felt “very saddened” that he had to apologize because of something she had expressed.
A Private Marriage for Decades
Govinda and Sunita Ahuja wed in March 1987, keeping their marriage under wraps to safeguard his growing fame. Their daughter Tina was born in 1988, after which their relationship became more public. The couple welcomed their son Yashvardhan in 1997.
