Strong Opening for Dhanush’s Tere Ishk Mein at the Box Office

Strong Opening for Dhanush’s Tere Ishk Mein at the Box Office

Post by : Maya Rahman

The romantic film Tere Ishk Mein, featuring Dhanush and Kriti Sanon, debuted impressively at the box office, pulling in approximately Rs 17 crore on its first day. This strong launch signifies a notable comeback for Dhanush in the Bollywood industry, showcasing an intense love story. It ranks as the year's second largest opening after Saiyaara, which garnered Rs 20 crore. Furthermore, it has eclipsed the opening day revenues of Rakul Preet and Ajay Devgn’s romantic comedy De De Pyaar De 2, which hit theaters just two weeks prior.

As reported by the industry tracker Sacnilk, Tere Ishk Mein achieved a net collection of ₹16.50 crore in India on its debut. The film has received favorable reviews from both audiences and critics, and is projected to sustain its strong performance throughout the weekend.

Under the direction of Anand L Rai, this marks the third collaboration between Dhanush and the filmmaker. Their earlier works, Raanjhanaa and Atrangi Re, were also well-received. With a production budget of Rs 85 crore, the movie was filmed in vibrant locations across Delhi, Varanasi, and Mumbai. These settings enhance the emotional depth of the movie's romantic narrative.

The chemistry and performances of the lead duo, Dhanush and Kriti Sanon, have earned widespread acclaim. Known for his versatility, Dhanush infuses fresh energy into his character, while Kriti Sanon adds charm and emotional resonance. Their connection has evidently resonated with audiences, making the film an early box office success.

This opening is particularly significant, as Dhanush has reached a milestone in Indian cinema, earning over Rs 10 crore on the first day across three film industries—Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi. This accomplishment places him in a unique category, with only Rajinikanth having achieved this before. This reflects Dhanush's expanding appeal across various linguistic and regional demographics.

Industry insiders believe that the success of Tere Ishk Mein can be attributed to its compelling narrative, emotional depth, and effective marketing strategies. Its music, cinematography, and poignant storyline have played a crucial role in receiving positive feedback. Expectations are high for the film to maintain its momentum over the weekend and potentially set new records in its opening week.

With this robust beginning, Tere Ishk Mein positions itself as a standout Hindi release for the year. Dhanush and Kriti Sanon's fanbase is already rallying in support, and the film's strong opening suggests a promising and extended presence in cinemas nationwide.
