Thailand Plans Budget to Boost Tourism Growth

Thailand Plans Budget to Boost Tourism Growth

Post by : Shakul

Natthariya Thaweewong, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, led an important meeting in Bangkok to plan the budget for the year 2027. The meeting focused on how tourism and sports can be used to support economic growth and improve the lives of people, especially those living in local communities.

The meeting was attended by senior officials from different departments and agencies. It was held both in person and through online platforms so that more people could join and share their ideas. The main discussion was about how to prepare a better budget that avoids unnecessary spending and focuses on useful projects.

Leaders discussed the importance of using government funds carefully. They stressed that every part of the budget should directly benefit the people and help in national development. The aim is to make sure that money is not wasted and is used in the most effective way.

A key focus of the meeting was the “Community Plus” policy. This policy is designed to support local communities by helping them earn more income through tourism and sports-related activities. It also aims to improve living standards and create more job opportunities at the local level.

Under this plan, the government is preparing to train tourism and sports volunteers across all 77 provinces of Thailand. These volunteers will act as local supporters who can guide tourists, promote local culture, and help develop tourism in their areas.

Officials also highlighted the need for better coordination between different departments. They want national, regional, and local plans to be connected so that all efforts move in the same direction and give better results.

Another important change discussed in the meeting was the role of tourist assistance staff. These staff members will now work more closely with local communities to improve safety, solve problems quickly, and build trust with tourists and residents.

The meeting also focused on improving tourism planning by linking it with local development needs. This includes creating plans that match the real needs of each area and ensure that development is balanced and inclusive.

In the end, the government expressed confidence that tourism and sports can play a major role in strengthening the economy. With proper planning, strong cooperation, and smart use of resources, Thailand aims to create more opportunities, increase income, and improve the overall quality of life for its people.
