After a lengthy wait of four years, Manoj Bajpayee’s highly-anticipated The Family Man is back, with its third season debuting on November 21. This spy thriller sees Bajpayee return to his iconic role as Srikant Tiwari, who juggles high-stakes national security dilemmas alongside his challenging family dynamics.
Directed by Raj and DK, Season 3 kicks off with Srikant embroiled in an assassination attempt. This incident plunges him into a fraught geopolitical scenario teeming with insurgency and espionage. The stellar cast includes Priyamani as his wife Suchitra, alongside returning faces like Sharib Hashmi, Shreya Dhanwanthary, Ashlesha Thakur, Vedant Sinha, and Dalip Tahil. Notable newcomers Jaideep Ahlawat and Nimrat Kaur play crucial antagonistic roles.
Since its debut in 2019, The Family Man has reshaped the Indian OTT thriller scene with a unique blend of action, humor, and family narrative. This latest season, however, emphasizes action more prominently, a move that has sparked diverse opinions among viewers.
Some fans have praised Season 3, asserting, “Out of all three seasons, this one is the most solid and vivid package yet.” Others appreciated both the returning cast and the fresh characters, highlighting commendable performances and captivating twists.
Conversely, some viewers expressed disappointment, noting weaker storytelling and less emphasis on Srikant’s familial interactions. Reviews featured comments like, “Weakest season yet… at least the chemistry is enjoyable,” and “Having watched four episodes, this season feels rather dull!” Many fans voiced concerns about the absence of the elements that made earlier seasons exceptional.
In summary, The Family Man Season 3 offers a mixed bag, oscillating between an exhilarating action spectacle and a less impressive narrative installment.
