Trump Sets Deadline for Iran Nuclear Deal Tehran Warns of Retaliation

Trump Sets Deadline for Iran Nuclear Deal Tehran Warns of Retaliation

Post by : Shakul

US President Donald Trump has warned Iran to reach a nuclear agreement within 10 to 15 days or face serious consequences. Speaking in Washington on February 20, 2026, Trump said talks with Iran were ongoing but stressed that a meaningful deal must be reached within the given timeframe.

The warning comes as the United States continues a major military buildup in the Middle East, including the deployment of aircraft carriers, warships, and fighter jets. Trump referred to earlier US airstrikes, claiming Iran’s nuclear capabilities had been heavily damaged and suggested that further action could be taken if negotiations fail.

In response, Iran sent a message to the United Nations stating that it does not seek war but would respond decisively if attacked. Tehran warned that US bases and military assets in the region would be targeted in case of any military aggression, holding Washington responsible for any escalation.

Despite the strong statements, Trump said that negotiations were making progress. US officials confirmed talks had taken place and said Iran is expected to submit a written proposal, though major disagreements remain over uranium enrichment and missile programs.

Rising tensions have increased global concerns, with oil prices climbing and several countries urging their citizens to leave Iran. The situation has raised fears of a wider conflict in the Middle East as the deadline set by the US president approaches.
