S.A. Niyazov Turkmen Agricultural University has announced that it will organize an international scientific project competition titled “The Role of Youth in Achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.” The event is being held to mark World Environment Day and the 35th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s independence.
The competition will bring together students from universities in Turkmenistan as well as from other countries. It aims to create a platform where young minds can present their ideas and research on global challenges related to sustainability and development.
The main objective of the competition is to highlight the important role that young researchers play in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals. It encourages students to contribute innovative solutions and scientific ideas that can help address key global issues.
Participants are invited to submit projects in six important areas. These include zero hunger, clean water and sanitation, affordable and clean energy, climate action, life below water, and life on land. These themes are directly linked to global sustainability efforts.
The competition will be conducted in two stages and will accept entries in Turkmen, English, and Russian languages. In the first stage, participants must submit their projects to the organizing committee before May 10 through email.
All submitted projects will be carefully reviewed by a jury panel. The best entries will be selected for the final stage, and the list of selected participants will be published on the university’s official website on May 20.
The final stage of the competition will take place from June 1 to June 5. During this stage, participants will present their projects online before the central organizing committee and experts.
Projects will be judged based on several important factors, including their relevance, level of innovation, clarity of presentation, feasibility, and overall quality. These criteria ensure that only well prepared and impactful projects are recognized.
The competition aims to support talented youth, promote knowledge exchange, and raise awareness about environmental protection and sustainable resource use. It also helps build international cooperation and encourages students to work together on global challenges.
