Uzbekistan and UAE Launch Groundbreaking AI and Bureaucracy Initiatives

Post by : Maya Rahman

During a significant event, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of Uzbekistan and UAE's Cabinet Affairs Minister Mohammed Al Gergawi unveiled two pivotal projects: the “Zero Government Bureaucracy Programme” and the “Five Million Uzbek AI Prompt Engineers Initiative.” These initiatives were introduced at the Uzbekistan Zero Bureaucracy Forum and Uzbekistan Artificial Intelligence Forum held in Tashkent, showcasing the ongoing strategic partnership between the two countries.

The forums assembled ministers, officials, and experts to examine strategies for enhancing governmental efficiency and the role of artificial intelligence in public service management. The UAE's success stories in minimizing bureaucracy served as a blueprint for Uzbekistan’s initiative, concentrating on streamlining administrative functions and decreasing paperwork to elevate governmental efficiency and service responsiveness.

Discussions at the Zero Bureaucracy Forum stressed that alleviating bureaucratic constraints would enhance citizen experiences, foster innovation in government, and bolster economic and social development. Through the adoption of advanced practices, Uzbekistan seeks to improve government operations and align with its developmental goals.

The Artificial Intelligence Forum marked the launch of the “Five Million Uzbek AI Prompt Engineers Initiative,” which plans to educate five million individuals in AI prompt engineering within three years. This initiative aims to cultivate a skilled workforce, spur innovation, and drive economic growth through technology and AI applications. UAE and Uzbek officials exchanged insights on AI's implementation in education, public services, and critical sectors, alongside interactive sessions focused on personalized learning and innovative governmental solutions.

Collaboration between the UAE and Uzbekistan on government modernization dates back to 2019 and has evolved significantly. The 2021 agreement renewal for six years emphasizes cooperation across various domains such as digital transformation, leadership development, industrial progress, social development, health, statistics, and urban planning. This partnership aligns seamlessly with Uzbekistan's Vision 2040, aiming to integrate global best practices in governance, technology, and education.

Both forums showcased the imperative of incorporating innovative methodologies and tapping into global expertise. The UAE shared insights on enhancing citizen satisfaction, refining governmental processes, and employing technology to modernize services. The collaborative ventures aim to elevate the capabilities of government personnel, inspire digital innovation, and position Uzbekistan as a frontrunner in efficient governance and AI adoption.

These initiatives underline the robust partnership between the UAE and Uzbekistan in reengineering governmental operations, fostering sustainable growth, and equipping the nation for future challenges. The Zero Bureaucracy Programme and AI training initiative are poised to deliver enduring improvements in public service, citizen satisfaction, and economic progress, highlighting a significant advance in Uzbekistan’s administrative and digital evolution.
