A major step toward strengthening social support systems has been taken in the United Arab Emirates, as the Zayed Authority for People of Determination signed a cooperation agreement to enhance psychological and family support services.
The agreement was signed in Abu Dhabi with the Haitham Al-Sharif Training and Consultancy Centre, aiming to provide counseling sessions, mental health support, and specialized training for parents and educational staff.
Representing the Authority, Abdullah Abdul Aali Al Humaidan emphasized that supporting People of Determination goes beyond education and rehabilitation, highlighting the importance of building a strong psychological and family support system.
The initiative focuses on improving mental well-being, promoting family stability, and enhancing the quality of services provided to People of Determination. It also aligns with the broader goals of Abu Dhabi’s Vision 2030, which aims to create a more inclusive and sustainable society.
Under the agreement, the Authority will facilitate training programs, provide venues, and monitor implementation, while the consultancy centre will deliver counseling sessions and organize training workshops for staff and families.
Officials from both sides stressed that investing in psychological and social support is key to empowering individuals and ensuring their active participation in society. The initiative is expected to play a vital role in creating a more inclusive environment and strengthening community well-being.
The collaboration reflects the UAE’s continued commitment to supporting People of Determination and enhancing their quality of life through integrated social and mental health services.
