Today marks the commencement of the inaugural UAE–Russia Business Forum in Dubai, symbolizing a vital step in bolstering cooperation between these two nations. The event is spearheaded by the Russia–UAE Business Council in partnership with the Roscongress Foundation, receiving support from Russia’s Ministry of Industry and Trade alongside Marathon Investment Group. Aiming to evolve into an annual gathering, the forum will unite influential corporations, investment entities, ministries, and technology startups from both countries. This event coincides with the 12th meeting of the Intergovernmental Russia–UAE Commission focused on Trade, Economic, and Technical Cooperation.
In recent times, the bilateral trade between the UAE and Russia has experienced significant growth, with collaborative ventures expanding across varied sectors such as manufacturing, logistics, agriculture, digital technologies, healthcare, and investment potential. The nations are diversifying their cooperative efforts beyond traditional spheres, venturing into modern industries that necessitate innovative collaborative strategies. The aim of the forum is to create platforms for fostering enduring growth and progress.
A highlight of the forum will be the main plenary session under the title “Architecture of Long-Term Growth: New Opportunities for Both Countries.” Alexander Vinokurov, Chairman of the Russia–UAE Business Council, will share the Council’s strategies for bolstering economic collaborations. Dignitaries will include UAE's Minister of Economy and Tourism Abdulla bin Touq Al Marri, Russian Industry and Trade Minister Anton Alikhanov, and leaders from prominent organisations like DP World, VTB Bank, and Gazprom-Media. Their dialogues will zero in on enhancing cooperative relations and maximizing economic advantages for both nations.
The agenda will also feature various panel discussions, starting with “Russia–UAE Innovation Track: A New Era of Technological Partnership.” This session will draw experts from the Dubai Future Foundation, VisionLabs, Promobot, Invest in Sharjah, and other notable organisations. One significant announcement will be the unveiling of the first accelerator program aimed at assisting Russian tech companies and startups in establishing a technology ecosystem within the UAE.
Investment cooperation will be another critical point of focus during the Strategic Co-Investment Dialogue hosted by Investment Majlis. This discussion will unveil novel tools to support projects and outline plans for creating a dedicated Russia–UAE investment platform. The dialogues are expected to bridge connections between strategic investors and specialized funds in both nations, nurturing long-term commercial alliances.
The business program will wrap up with a session titled “Russia and the UAE: Shaping the Ecosystem of Trade and Logistics of the Future.” Experts representing Emirates Airlines, DP World, RAKEZ, KEZAD, FESCO, and others will delve into enhancing export corridors, diversifying trading routes, and cultivating sustainable multimodal logistics solutions. This discussion aspires to facilitate smoother trade logistics and fortify the economic bond shared between the UAE and Russia.
The forum stands as a testament to the unwavering dedication of both nations to strengthen collaboration across trade, investment, innovation, and logistics. It encapsulates a mutual aspiration for sustainable strategic growth and a prosperous future built on robust business partnerships.
