In Dubai, a high-profile summit was held to underscore the increasing economic collaboration between the United Arab Emirates and Russia. The 12th session of the Russia–UAE Intergovernmental Commission on Trade, Economic, and Technical Cooperation gathered leading officials and representatives from the private sector to discuss fresh avenues for business.
UAE Minister of Economy and Tourism, Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri, described the relationship as “strategic ties”, motivated by mutual economic interests. Co-chairing the meeting, Russian Industry and Trade Minister Anton Alikhanov emphasized the importance of cooperation in sectors vital to the global economy's landscape.
The agenda covered various domains, including energy, industrial development, food security, education, logistics, tourism, culture, and environmental conservation. UAE officials showcased the country’s business-friendly environment, featuring laws that allow full foreign ownership of firms and access to over 2,000 economic activities.
Additionally, the discussion aimed at establishing new frameworks to assist entrepreneurs and firms in expanding their operations internationally. Both countries expressed confidence in exploring emerging sectors and enhancing trade channels for mutual benefit.
With the UAE recognized as a vibrant business center and Russia contributing substantial industrial and technological prowess, this partnership is set to create significant prospects for both local and foreign investors.
