UAE Culminates Year of Community 2025 with Unity and Progress

UAE Culminates Year of Community 2025 with Unity and Progress

Post by : Badri Ariffin

The UAE's Year of Community 2025 has successfully wrapped up its mission to encourage all residents in building a connected, participatory, and forward-thinking society. Guided by the mantra “Hand in Hand,” the year emphasized the principles of unity, growth, and generosity across the nation.

Throughout the past year, national institutions, local talents, and community members collaborated to enhance the social framework of the UAE. These partnerships generated impactful experiences, underscoring the strength of cooperation in forging a stronger community.

Rauda Al Falasi, the Project Lead of the Year of Community, pointed out the nation’s diverse yet cohesive population: “The UAE is shaped by every resident, united by common values and goals. Communities across the country actively contributed and embraced shared responsibility, pushing progress through collaboration.”

An important initiative, “Who’s the ‘بــ’ in Your Life?”, motivated individuals to honor those who inspire and uplift their communities. Personal narratives, including Ola Allouz who recognized her twin sister as her inspiration, and Aysha Khalfan who lauded Sheikh Zayed’s legacy of unity, underpin the profound connections that individuals share in the UAE.

The Year also celebrated exceptional individuals in collaboration with the Abu Dhabi Awards, recognizing contributors like Dr. Fatima Al Refaei in nursing education, Abdul Muqeet Abdul Mannan for sustainability innovations, and HE Klaithem Obaid Al Matrooshi for promoting inclusion for People of Determination.

Volunteering initiatives flourished, notably through the “7 Volunteering Opportunities in 7 Emirates” campaign with Emirates Foundation, furthering community involvement and honoring volunteer advocates nationwide.

Innovative partnerships brought community ethos to life, with MAKE Abu Dhabi enhancing creative capabilities, and Cinema Akil hosting open-air film nights that brought together families and storytellers. The “We Archive” platform preserved community memories through photography and storytelling.

In a further celebration of creativity, contributions to the Emirati Birthday Song project were invited from across the nation, merging music with cultural identity. Local artists and designers crafted sustainable products inspired by Emirati traditions, fostering a stronger public connection to cultural heritage.

Youth involvement was emphasized, particularly with the upcoming “UAE Craft: Community Edition” game aimed at children ages 6 to 12. This interactive educational game fosters teamwork while promoting appreciation for the UAE’s varied natural and cultural landscapes through enjoyable challenges and storytelling.

Community engagement extended both online and offline with the Community Impact Tracker, which recorded over 350 initiatives encompassing education, culture, health, environment, and heritage, illustrating the nation’s commitment to social responsibility.

As the UAE Year of Community 2025 comes to a close, it establishes a profound legacy of unity, shared growth, and generosity, fortifying the foundation for a vibrant, inclusive future for all residents.

The ongoing UAE Year of initiatives continues to foster national values by promoting active participation and a sense of belonging, showcasing that community is a living, evolving commitment of collective care and responsibility.
