Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath held talks in Tokyo with Nishimura Yasutoshi, former Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan.
The discussions focused on strengthening cooperation between Uttar Pradesh and Japan within the broader framework of India-Japan relations. The leaders emphasized institutional engagement, economic collaboration and stronger people-to-people exchanges.
During the meeting, Yogi Adityanath highlighted Uttar Pradesh’s rapid economic growth, progressive industrial policies and its commitment to creating a favorable environment for global investors. He also stressed Japan’s important role in the state’s development journey.
Nishimura appreciated the transformation taking place in Uttar Pradesh and expressed his commitment to further advancing UP-Japan ties. He also mentioned that Uttar Pradesh and Yamanashi Prefecture are collaborating on green hydrogen projects.
Earlier in the day, Yogi Adityanath met Japan’s Foreign Minister Toshimitsu Motegi to discuss ways to enhance cooperation in various sectors. Officials noted that the India-Japan Special Strategic and Global Partnership provides a strong foundation for expanding bilateral relations and promoting state-prefecture partnerships.
