US Backs Israel Strongly Amid Gaza Bombing and Rising Tensions

US Backs Israel Strongly Amid Gaza Bombing and Rising Tensions

Post by : Raman

The world is closely watching a very serious and dangerous situation in the Middle East. Recently, Israel started a major new military attack on Gaza City, the biggest city in the Palestinian region of Gaza. This attack came after the United States Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, visited Jerusalem and gave strong support to Israel’s actions.

Who Is Marco Rubio and What Did He Say?

Marco Rubio is the US Secretary of State. He visited Jerusalem on Monday, September 15, 2025, and said Israel could "count on our unwavering support" for its military attack. Rubio visited Israel to show that the United States stands with Israel during this difficult time. He spoke alongside Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Rubio strongly criticized Hamas, the Palestinian group responsible for violent attacks on Israel. He called Hamas "barbaric animals" and said the people of Gaza deserve a better future, but that this future cannot come until Hamas is completely eliminated.

What Is Happening in Gaza?

Since the military attack started, Gaza City has been heavily bombed by the Israeli army. Many homes and buildings were destroyed, and many people are trapped under the rubble. A local resident, Ahmed Ghazal, said, "We can hear their screams." This shows how serious and tragic the situation is for people living in Gaza.

The Gaza civil defense agency confirmed that the bombings are continuing strongly. They reported many deaths and injuries every day. On Monday alone, Israeli airstrikes killed 49 people in Khan Yunis, another city in southern Gaza.

However, because of strict media rules and the dangerous situation in Gaza, reporters are finding it difficult to check the full truth about what is happening. Independent verification of the events is not easy right now.

Why Is This Conflict Happening?

This serious conflict between Israel and Hamas has a long history. It became worse on October 7, 2023, when Hamas attacked Israel and killed 1,219 people, most of whom were civilians. This led to a war where Israel began a big military campaign in Gaza to stop Hamas.

Since then, over 64,900 people have been killed in Gaza due to the attacks, and most of these victims were also civilians, according to health ministry reports considered reliable by the United Nations.

Israel says it is fighting Hamas to protect its people from further attacks. But Palestinians and many others around the world say that Israel’s actions are too harsh and harm innocent civilians.

What Is The Role of the United States?

The United States has always been a strong ally of Israel. But during this visit, Marco Rubio’s support was stronger than ever. He even visited holy places in East Jerusalem and took part in the opening of a tunnel for religious tourists, a move many see as a strong symbol of US backing.

Rubio’s visit is also politically important. He is visiting Qatar next, which hosts the biggest US airbase in the region. Despite earlier tensions between the US and Israel over airstrikes in Qatar, Rubio’s trip shows that the US wants to keep strong relations with both Israel and Qatar.

Rubio’s strong words during the visit send a clear message: the US stands firmly with Israel against Hamas. He said the people of Gaza deserve peace, but only after Hamas is gone.

The Bigger Picture: International Reaction

Not all countries agree with the US and Israel’s strong stance. France, for example, is planning to lead a United Nations (UN) summit soon. Several US allies at the UN are angry with Israel because they think Israel is not ready to make peace with Palestinians. Many of these countries plan to recognize Palestine as a state.

Rubio and Netanyahu both said recognizing Palestine as a state is "mostly symbolic." However, some far-right Israeli leaders want to annex the West Bank, a Palestinian region, to stop the creation of a Palestinian state. This has led to protests from countries like the United Arab Emirates, which recognized Israel five years ago.

The Human Cost of War

Many people are suffering because of this war. Hospitals are overwhelmed, and thousands of families have lost their homes. The destruction of homes and basic services makes life very hard for civilians in Gaza. Some Palestinians say this is part of a plan to erase their history and identity.

One local, Fakhri Abu Diab, said Rubio should visit people whose homes were destroyed instead of focusing only on symbolic sites. He said, "Instead of siding with international law, the United States is going the way of extremists and the far right."

The Issue of Hostages

Another serious issue is the hostages. Back in October 2023, Palestinian militants took 251 people hostage. Out of those, 47 people are still held in Gaza. Israel’s army says 25 of these hostages have died.

During his visit, Marco Rubio met privately with the families of these hostages. He listened to their painful stories and said the US is committed to helping free them.

Why Is This Important to the World?

This conflict is not just about two countries. It affects the whole world. It shows how old disputes can turn into violent wars that hurt innocent people. The United States’ strong support for Israel makes the conflict more complicated.

The international community, including the UN, France, and many other countries, wants to find a peaceful solution. But for now, the bombings and attacks continue.

What Can Happen Next?

The future is uncertain. On one hand, Israel will keep fighting Hamas until its military goal is achieved. On the other hand, countries around the world are pushing for peace talks and a ceasefire.

The UN will soon hold a big meeting to discuss Palestine’s statehood. Many hope this can lead to a long-lasting solution that brings peace to the region.

But the danger remains. More people may lose their homes, families, and lives if no solution is found soon.

The situation in Gaza and Israel is one of the most serious conflicts in the world today. US Secretary Marco Rubio’s strong support for Israel has made things even more complicated. While Israel says it fights for its safety, the world sees thousands of innocent civilians suffering.

It is important to remember that wars do not solve problems. Only peaceful talks and fair solutions can help both sides live in safety and happiness.

For now, the world watches and hopes for an end to violence.
