Israel & US Launch Major Strikes on Iran | Explosions Rock Tehran

Post by : Shakul

Tensions in the Middle East have escalated dramatically as joint air and missile strikes by the United States and Israel hit multiple locations across Iran, including the capital Tehran, marking one of the most significant military escalations in the region in years. The coordinated offensive, described by Israeli officials as a pre‑emptive strike against Iran’s military infrastructure, has triggered explosions and visible plumes of smoke across Tehran and other cities as defensive sirens echoed throughout the nation.

The operation, reportedly named Operation Lion’s Roar, targeted Iranian military, air defense and command sites in Tehran and several other urban centres, as both countries say they aim to weaken Tehran’s strategic capabilities. Israeli authorities said strikes focused on key defence installations, while Iranian media broadcast videos and images showing smoke rising high above the capital following multiple blasts.

Iran has responded by launching ballistic missiles and drones toward allied positions and Gulf states, broadening the conflict beyond Iranian borders and prompting concerns of a wider regional war. The situation has also resulted in casualty reports from both sides, emergency measures in Israel, airspace closures and heightened diplomatic tensions with neighbouring states.

The attacks follow months of mounting hostilities between Iran, Israel and the United States, and represent a significant escalation after diplomatic efforts failed to curb rising tensions over Iran’s nuclear and military programs. Global leaders have issued urgent calls for de‑escalation amid fears of broader instability across the Middle East.
