Vietnam Govt Issues Key Policy Reforms This Week

Vietnam Govt Issues Key Policy Reforms This Week

Post by : Shakul

The Government of Vietnam and the Prime Minister introduced a series of major policy directives and reforms during the week of April 4–10, 2026, focusing on administrative simplification, economic growth, and innovation. These measures aim to improve governance efficiency and strengthen the country’s overall development strategy.

A key highlight was the issuance of Resolution No. 66, which focuses on reducing and simplifying administrative procedures related to production and business activities across 14 ministries and agencies. The move is expected to ease regulatory burdens and improve the business environment.

The government also emphasized reforming working methods within the political system to enhance efficiency. A detailed plan was approved to modernize administrative processes, reduce unnecessary meetings, and promote the use of information technology in governance.

In a major development, the Prime Minister approved adjustments to regional planning for six major regions through 2030, with a vision extending to 2050. Additionally, a proposal to establish Dong Nai as a centrally governed city was approved, marking a significant step in urban development.

Economic and social policies also saw notable changes, including an increase in the income ceiling for purchasing social housing. New rules allow higher income thresholds, making housing more accessible to a broader segment of the population.

The government introduced long-term initiatives such as developing 1,000 pioneering enterprises by 2030 and expanding Vietnamese businesses into international markets. These programs aim to boost competitiveness, innovation, and global integration.

Further reforms include promoting scientific research and innovation in universities, launching a national entrepreneurship strategy, and implementing stricter regulations in sectors such as electricity, environment, and food safety. These steps reflect Vietnam’s commitment to sustainable growth and modernization.
