Renowned filmmaker Vikram Bhatt is currently facing an FIR in Udaipur linked to claims of fraud tied to a film production deal. The case was filed at the Bhupalpura police station and is actively being investigated.
According to reports, Dr. Ajay Murdia, a local physician, lodged the complaint, asserting that he entered into an agreement with Bhatt’s production company to produce films and documentaries in tribute to his deceased wife. Dr. Murdia claims to have made payments for a total of four films, but only two were realized, and he contends that those completed projects lacked proper acknowledgment. He added that the budget for the largest project was never utilized.
Investigators are currently scrutinizing records and contract stipulations to determine the next steps in the case.
Vikram Bhatt has categorically rejected the accusations, asserting that incorrect information has been submitted to authorities. He questioned the validity of such claims in absence of substantiating documents. Bhatt emphasized that the complainant continued collaborating with him on various films, imperiling the narrative of deceit. He mentioned having emails and contractual records to corroborate his position.
This incident arises just after the debut of Tumko Meri Kasam, Dr. Murdia's latest film project. Bhatt, who launched his career under Mukul Anand, has directed notable films including Ghulam, Raaz, and the 1920 series.
The investigation remains in progress.
