Virat Kohli and his wife Anushka Sharma graced the premises of spiritual mentor Premanand Maharaj at the Shri Hit Radha Keli Kunj ashram in Varah Ghat, Vrindavan. Footage from their visit quickly spread across social media, showcasing the couple deeply engrossed in the guru's teachings, illustrating their pursuit of spirituality outside the limelight. This was their third pilgrimage to Vrindavan this year, emphasizing their commitment to personal introspection amidst a series of international and public obligations.
Their visit came just days ahead of Kohli's participation in the Vijay Hazare Trophy for Delhi. Although there had been speculations about a possible meeting with football legend Lionel Messi in Mumbai or Delhi, Kohli opted for a spiritual engagement instead. The couple was seen quietly immersing themselves in the guru's sermon, reaffirming their dedication to both personal development and faith.
This spiritual retreat followed their recent return to India from the United Kingdom, coinciding with Messi's tour across the nation. Fans took to social platforms to commend the couple for harmonizing their bustling public roles with personal spirituality, highlighting their routine visits to Vrindavan as a source of spiritual fortitude.
Meanwhile, the apex council's upcoming 31st AGM is set to take place online, with significant deliberations expected about the contracts of both Kohli and senior cricketer Rohit Sharma, who have both moved away from Test and T20I formats over the past year, now focusing solely on ODIs.
