In a significant move, Microsoft has unveiled Xbox Cloud Gaming in India, allowing gamers to access Xbox titles without needing a console. With just a suitable device and a reliable internet connection, players can stream hundreds of games from the cloud.
Budget-Friendly Subscription Options
The service is integrated with Xbox Game Pass subscriptions, with the new Essential tier priced at Rs. 499 monthly. This tier includes access to over 50 games and online multiplayer features. Higher tiers, Premium and Ultimate, cost Rs. 699 and Rs. 1,389, respectively, with the Ultimate plan providing access to day-one game releases. For PC gamers, the PC Game Pass is available at Rs. 939 per month.
Play on Multiple Devices
Players can enjoy gaming on PCs, Macs, smartphones, tablets, and compatible smart TVs from brands such as Samsung, LG, and Amazon Fire TV. The streaming process is straightforward: users need to open a compatible browser or the Xbox app, log in, connect a supported controller, and begin gaming. Supported controllers include Xbox Wireless and PlayStation DualSense, while some games allow touch or keyboard-and-mouse controls.
Effortless Gaming on Smart TVs
Users can easily download the Xbox app on their smart TVs, sign in with a Game Pass subscription, connect a Bluetooth controller, and gain immediate access to cloud gaming. This makes it possible to experience console-level games on a living room screen without the need to buy an Xbox.
A New Era for Gaming in India
This launch signifies Microsoft’s leap towards broadening the reach of Xbox Cloud Gaming in India, extending beyond its previous global beta tests, and aiming to deliver top-notch gaming experiences to a wider segment of Indian gamers. The service also supports Windows-based handheld devices like the ROG Xbox Ally, ensuring smoother portable gaming.
