Zelensky Asks for Help as Ukraine Says Russia Plans Long War

Zelensky Asks for Help as Ukraine Says Russia Plans Long War

Post by : Rameen Ariff

Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky has warned that Russia is preparing for a long war and may continue fighting into the next year. He shared this concern on Thursday, saying Ukraine has received clear signs from Moscow.

The warning comes as the war enters another difficult winter, with fighting still continuing on many fronts.

What Zelensky Said and When He Said It

Speaking from Kyiv, Zelensky said Ukraine has received signals from Russia that show plans for more fighting in the coming year. He said these signals are not only meant for Ukraine but should be taken seriously by the whole world.

In a message shared on social media, Zelensky said Russia’s actions are very different from its words. While Russia says it wants peace, its military orders show plans for more war.

The Zelensky Russia war warning was made early Thursday morning.

Call for Help From Allies

Zelensky strongly asked for help from Ukraine’s allies, especially the United States. He said some partners believe Russia wants to stop the war, but the signs from Moscow show the opposite.

He said partners must not only see these signs but also act quickly.

According to Zelensky, when Russia is in this mindset, it tries to hide its true goals behind talks and documents. He warned that Russia wants to destroy Ukraine and take its land, and later may make similar claims against other European countries.

Need for Protection and Support

Zelensky said Ukraine needs real protection to face this danger. He asked for:

  • Security help

  • Financial support

  • Political action

  • Steps against Russian assets

He said courage is needed from all partners to accept the truth and act on it.

The Zelensky Russia war message ended with him thanking all countries that continue to support Ukraine.

Russia’s Response

Earlier on Wednesday, Russian President Vladimir Putin said Russia will reach its goals. He rejected claims that Russia wants war with the West and called such talk false.

Putin said Western leaders are spreading fear. He added that Russia has taken control of many areas over the past year and will continue to push forward.

War Situation on the Ground

The war has now reached another harsh winter. In recent weeks, both Russia and Ukraine have increased attacks on each other’s energy sites and oil facilities. These attacks have caused damage and raised fears of more hardship for civilians.

The Zelensky Russia war warning highlights growing concern that the conflict may last much longer than expected.

What Comes Next

World leaders are closely watching the situation. Ukraine continues to ask for stronger support, while Russia remains firm on its goals.

As the war continues, many fear that peace may still be far away.
