On July 5, Abha International Airport, managed by Cluster2 Airports, celebrated a significant milestone by facilitating over 130 flights, making it the airport's busiest single day to date.
As reported by Cluster2 Airports, this impressive total consists of 117 domestic and 15 international flights, resulting in a grand total of 132 flights for the day—the highest recorded in the airport's history.
According to Cluster2 Airports, this surge in flight operations is indicative of the growing appetite for air travel, particularly during the bustling summer months. The airport's operational framework skillfully handled this surge without compromising efficiency.
The cluster also noted that the Asir region's expanding array of summer events, coupled with its stunning natural scenery and cultural offerings, has been pivotal in attracting an increasing number of visitors.
Cluster2 Airports emphasized that achieving this record number of flights aligns with the goals outlined in the Aviation Program as part of Saudi Arabia's National Transport and Logistics Strategy, which aims to enhance airport capacity and elevate service quality while adhering to stringent operational standards.
