2025 World Shooting Para Sport Championship Set for Al Ain

In a significant move for inclusive sports, the UAE will host the 2025 World Shooting Para Sport World Cup at the Al Ain Equestrian, Shooting and Golf Club, scheduled from 25th October to 5th November 2025. This prestigious championship unites athletes with disabilities to compete at elite levels, emphasizing excellence and inclusion.

The event, organized by the Zayed Authority for People of Determination in collaboration with the International Paralympic Committee and the World Shooting Para Sport Federation, is held under the auspices of H.H. Sheikh Nahyan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who chairs both the Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation and the Abu Dhabi Sports Council.

Anticipated participants include representatives from 37 countries, totaling around 370 individuals, including athletes, team leaders, and international referees. A noteworthy 213 male and female athletes will be competing across 43 events that feature categories for men’s, women’s, and visually impaired shooters, showcasing their skills on a global platform.

Disciplines featured include air pistol, air rifle, small-bore, shotgun, and visually impaired shooting. Adhering to international standards, the events promise fairness and a backdrop of top-tier competition. This occasion marks the eighth hosting by the UAE, highlighting its emerging status as a hub for global para-sport.

According to Abdullah Abdulali Al Humaidan, Director-General of the Zayed Authority for People of Determination, the hosting of this championship underscores the trust placed in the UAE by the International Paralympic Committee and the World Shooting Para Sport Federation regarding its organizational capabilities and inclusive sports infrastructure.

Aref Hamad Al Awani, Secretary-General of the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, expressed that the championship further embodies the UAE leadership’s ambition to bolster the nation’s presence in international sports. The event serves to empower People of Determination, giving them the stage to internationally compete and garner recognition for their exceptional talent.

Abdullah Ismail Al Kamali, Executive Director of the People of Determination Sector at Zayed Authority and Chairman of the Championship’s Supreme Organising Committee, thanked the UAE’s astute leadership for its unwavering support of People of Determination. He noted that this championship has become a pivotal fixture on the global para-sport calendar, a testament to the UAE's unmatched organizational success.

More than just a sporting event, the World Shooting Para Sport World Cup encourages inclusion, fosters global collaboration, and establishes the UAE as a preeminent host for para-sport competitions. Athletes from around the world are set to exhibit their resilience, skills, and sportsmanship, paving the way for future generations of para-athletes.
