SHARJAH: Alef Group, a prominent real estate developer in Sharjah, has launched a novel public art initiative titled ‘Threads of Connection’. This project aims to foster creativity, reinforce community bonds, and spark meaningful dialogues through artistic expression.
The initiative is now open for submissions from artists not only in the UAE but also from the wider region. Chosen participants will have the chance to exhibit their works in a dedicated public art show at Al Mamsha, Sharjah’s leading lifestyle hub.
This call is extended to both emerging talents and established artists, providing a platform for a variety of artistic expressions. Artists are encouraged to submit their work across diverse visual art forms, including installations and sculptures.
Under the theme ‘Threads of Connection’, artists are invited to delve into the relationships linking people, cultures, and shared experiences. Their unique perspectives will contribute to a collective narrative showcasing the richness of contemporary cultural expression.
As Sharjah's inaugural fully walkable community, Al Mamsha is expanding its offerings beyond residential and commercial spaces by adding cultural experiences that enhance daily life. This initiative aims to connect artists with residents and visitors, further establishing it as a hub for creativity and public engagement.
On the subject, Alef Group asserted that premier destinations are shaped by more than just their physical layouts—they are also defined by the experiences they foster and the communities they cultivate.
The company commented, “At Alef, we contend that exceptional destinations are marked not solely by their spaces but also by the engaging experiences they offer and the communities they unite. Through 'Threads of Connection', we are enabling artists to interact meaningfully with the public. This initiative underscores our commitment to empowering creative talent, enriching Sharjah's cultural realm, and positioning Al Mamsha as a place that bridges people through shared experiences.”
As noted by Alef Group, this initiative aligns with their overarching vision of creating integrated destinations that transcend traditional residential and commercial frameworks by fostering culture, creativity, and social bonds.
Additionally, the project enhances Sharjah’s role as a regional arts and culture hub by providing fresh opportunities for artists to present their work in public spaces while promoting deeper community engagement with the arts.
