Anwar Confirms Elimination of Hardcore Poverty in Selangor

Anwar Confirms Elimination of Hardcore Poverty in Selangor

Post by : Shakul

In a significant declaration, Malaysia’s Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim announced that hardcore poverty in Selangor has been effectively eradicated, thanks to the strategic and ongoing assistance programs. This pivotal report emerged following a district-level conference dedicated to development and welfare within the state.

The announcement was made during a Petaling District Development Meeting held in Shah Alam, highlighting the positive outcomes of various initiatives aimed at enhancing quality of life for low-income households.

While celebrating this accomplishment, Anwar Ibrahim reiterated the importance of continuous monitoring. He emphasized the government's commitment to ensuring that no family is overlooked and that all qualified individuals maintain access to essential support for improving their living standards.

Additionally, he mentioned that the focus extends beyond financial aid to empowering individuals through skill development and training. This approach aims to cultivate self-sufficiency and long-term economic improvement for families through education and job opportunities.

Highlighting Selangor’s robust economy, the Prime Minister affirmed its crucial role in underpinning these initiatives. He encouraged making the state's economic capabilities work for the benefit of all citizens, particularly in urban areas facing financial strain.

Anwar also advocated for the expansion of the SejaTi Madani program, particularly within the Petaling district, which endeavors to bolster community projects that enable residents to create sustainable income sources.

During the meeting, several success stories were highlighted, including tailored initiatives in Kampung Melayu Subang, stingless bee farming in Bayu Damansara, and furniture crafting in Bukit Lanchong. These projects have reportedly generated incomes ranging from RM24,000 to RM100,000, demonstrating the efficacy of focused support.

The conference also tackled various pressing public concerns, including road repairs, flood management, waste disposal, and the oversight of religious sites. The government is actively formulating both immediate solutions and comprehensive strategies to enhance these vital areas.

Concluding his remarks, Anwar Ibrahim expressed optimism that persistent collaboration and dedication from all stakeholders will allow the government to address remaining challenges and ensure equitable access to development benefits for every societal segment.
