Dubai Residents Receive Missile Threat Alert Amid Rising Gulf Tensions

Dubai Residents Receive Missile Threat Alert Amid Rising Gulf Tensions

Post by : Shakul

Residents in Dubai received emergency mobile alerts warning of a potential missile threat as tensions in the Gulf region continued to escalate amid the wider conflict involving Iran, the United States and Israel. Authorities advised people to immediately seek shelter after the warning was issued around midday, highlighting the growing security concerns across the United Arab Emirates.

The UAE’s defence ministry reported that the country had faced multiple aerial threats in recent days. On Thursday alone, air defence systems intercepted several ballistic missiles and more than a hundred drones aimed at the country. Some debris from intercepted drones reportedly caused minor injuries in Abu Dhabi, while explosions were heard near Zayed International Airport as defence systems engaged incoming threats.

The wider conflict has disrupted daily life and travel across the Gulf. Thousands of flights have been cancelled or delayed since late February as several countries closed parts of their airspace due to security risks. Airlines have reduced operations, leaving many tourists stranded in the region. Emirates airline said it carried tens of thousands of passengers out of Dubai in a single day as authorities worked to manage travel disruptions.

Local supermarkets in Dubai have also introduced temporary limits on purchases of fruits and vegetables as residents rushed to stock up on supplies following the alerts. Officials urged people to remain calm and rely only on verified information from government sources.

The conflict intensified after US-Israel strikes on Iranian targets triggered retaliatory missile and drone attacks across the region. Several Gulf countries, including Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Oman, have activated air defence systems in response to the growing threat. Governments across the region remain on high alert as the situation continues to develop.
