Fatima bint Jaffar Al Sairafi, the Minister of Tourism and Chairperson of the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA), convened with Dennis de Groot, General Manager of Hawar Resort by Mantis, along with Ilhan Anil.
In their discussions, Minister Al Sairafi emphasized the critical role that significant tourism projects play in advancing Bahrain's tourism sector and enhancing sustainable tourism experiences across the country. She identified the Hawar Resort as a pivotal project that solidifies Bahrain's stature as a premier island tourism destination, in alignment with the Tourism Strategy 2022–2026.
The minister pointed out that waterfront areas and marine tourism activities are key components of Bahrain's tourism blueprint, aiding in the diversification of tourism offerings and increasing the kingdom's attractiveness for both regional and international visitors.
The dialogue also covered several aspects related to Bahrain’s tourism development. This included initiatives to enhance Bahrain's tourism profile, collaborative opportunities in ecotourism and luxury hospitality, as well as strategies for promoting Hawar Island as a vital tourism hotspot.
Officials deliberated on improving connections between the attractions on Hawar Island and Bahrain’s broader tourism landmarks to draw more visitors and underpin sustainable tourism growth within the kingdom.
