Former Malaysian Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Adham Baba has officially returned to active politics by contesting the Pasir Raja state seat in the 16th Johor State Election. His return has drawn attention as he seeks to regain a seat he previously represented for two terms.
Three-Way Contest Confirmed
The Pasir Raja constituency will witness a three-cornered contest between Barisan Nasional (BN), Pakatan Harapan (PH), and Perikatan Nasional (PN). Dr Adham Baba will represent BN, while Mohd Fakharuddin Moslim is contesting for PH and Yuhanita Yunan is representing PN.
Nomination Completed Successfully
Returning Officer Nurul Aishah Mohamadon officially announced the list of qualified candidates at the nomination centre in Kota Tinggi. The announcement confirmed that all three candidates met the election requirements and will compete for the state seat.

Experienced Political Figure
Dr Adham Baba previously served as the Pasir Raja assemblyman from 2008 until 2018 before winning the Tenggara parliamentary seat during the 2018 General Election. His experience in both state and national politics is expected to make the contest one of the closely watched races in Johor.
Election Campaign Begins
Following the nomination process, political parties are expected to intensify their campaigns across the constituency. Candidates will focus on local development, public services and economic issues while seeking support from voters ahead of polling day.
Voting Scheduled for July
The Election Commission has scheduled early voting on July 7, while the main polling day for the Johor State Election will be held on July 11. The outcome in Pasir Raja is expected to contribute to the overall political landscape in Johor.
