In a series of high-level engagements in Ethiopia, Dubai Chambers has sought to bolster trade and investment relations with one of Africa’s rapidly growing markets. Held in Addis Ababa, this mission aims to uncover new opportunities for Dubai businesses in Africa, including Ghana.
Mohammad Ali Rashed Lootah, President and CEO of Dubai Chambers, led the delegation. During their meetings with Ethiopian government representatives, investment authorities, and industry leaders, they explored avenues for collaboration in trade, industry, and investment.
A highlight of the visit was the meeting with Ethiopia’s Minister of Industry, Melaku Alebel. Here, discussions centered around fostering industrial partnerships, enhancing trade exchanges, and creating new business opportunities that can benefit both countries' private sectors.
The Dubai-based delegation also conferred with the Ethiopian Investment Commission, emphasizing the investment opportunities within Ethiopia. Strategies to attract more foreign businesses and create a conducive environment for expansion were key points of discussion.
In addition to this, they had a fruitful dialogue with Ethiopian Investment Holdings, Africa’s largest sovereign wealth fund, focusing on future partnerships and joint investments across various sectors to support economic growth.
This visit underscores the strengthening economic ties between Dubai and various African nations, with Dubai Chambers committed to supporting local businesses in their international ventures and enhancing Dubai’s status as a global trading hub.
The outcomes of these meetings are anticipated to pave the way for enhanced cooperation, increased bilateral trade, and positive investments that will foster economic advancement in both regions.
