Post by : Badri Ariffin

The Education Above All (EAA) Foundation hosted Let's Move for Education, a vibrant community initiative to mark Olympic Day 2026, aligning with the International Olympic Committee's global Let's Move campaign.

Taking place at Place Vendome Mall, the event drew hundreds, including families, young participants, Team Qatar athletes, community members, EAA staff, partner organizations, and special guests. It featured an indoor community walk and jog aimed at promoting physical fitness and community involvement.

Activities kicked off with a guided warm-up session, after which participants completed up to five laps around the mall, totaling around five kilometers. The event emphasized healthy living, social connection, and inclusive youth engagement.

Individuals of various ages and skill levels joined in at their own pace, reinforcing the idea that every journey starts with just one step. The event encouraged participation from everyone, irrespective of their fitness background.

The EAA Foundation's role in the IOC's Let's Move campaign showcased the broader advantages of sports beyond mere physical activity. The foundation stressed that sports can foster confidence, resilience, teamwork, leadership, and communication skills that are vital for personal development in and out of the classroom.

Furthermore, the event highlighted the EAA Foundation's dedication to forming innovative partnerships that merge education, sports, and community development to create enriching opportunities for youth.

Al Jazi Darwish, Director of Communications and Engagement at the EAA Foundation, remarked, "Sport has the unique ability to unite individuals and motivate youth to discover their potential. Through Let's Move for Education, we proudly endorse a global initiative that champions active lifestyles, community health, and connection while affirming our belief that education and sports can collaboratively empower youth and equip them with essential life skills."

This event further cemented the ongoing partnership between the EAA Foundation, Qatar Foundation, and the International Olympic Committee through the Circle In initiative, harnessing the power of sports to foster safe, inclusive environments that promote learning, healing, and personal growth among youth.
