Post by : Badri Ariffin

The Environment Agency – Abu Dhabi (EAD) has officially commenced the submission process for the 10th Anniversary Edition of the Abu Dhabi Sustainable Business Leadership Awards. This initiative welcomes participation from public, private, and non-profit organizations eager to highlight their sustainability achievements.

Organized by the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Group (ADSG), functioning under EAD, these awards honor outstanding leadership, innovation, and dedication to boosting sustainability within the region.

Celebrating a Decade of Sustainability Impact

In this milestone 10th year, the awards shine a light on sustainability’s growing influence in fostering both environmental preservation and economic advancement. EAD encourages all sectors to participate and illustrate the correlation between responsible environmental strategies and competitive business practices.

The ceremony for the 2026 Abu Dhabi Sustainable Business Leadership Awards is scheduled for September 29, 2026, at the Jumeirah Saadiyat Island Hotel.

Acknowledging Excellence and Fostering Progress

Throughout the past decade, these awards have established themselves as a pivotal platform for recognizing organizations that have made substantial contributions to sustainability. EAD observes that numerous participants have evolved from early adopters of sustainable methods to leaders inspiring long-term changes in both organizational and environmental realms.

The 2026 edition is set to commemorate ten years of ambitions, partnerships, and measurable impacts, whilst motivating additional organizations to present their sustainability success stories.

EAD Emphasizes Environmental Leadership

Dr. Shaikha Salem Al Dhaheri, the Secretary-General of EAD, states that this 10th anniversary marks years of dedication that have yielded measurable advancements towards stronger ecosystems and a future anchored in scientific approaches to environmental stewardship.

She highlights that maintaining environmental resilience is crucial for Abu Dhabi’s ongoing prosperity and notes that award-winning organizations exemplify the leadership, creativity, and accountability necessary to effectively translate sustainability aspirations into tangible outcomes.

Dr. Al Dhaheri encourages all organizations committed to sustainability to engage in this year's awards and contribute to shaping the forthcoming phase of transformative growth within the emirate.

Awards Propel Organizational Advancement

Eng. Abdulla Mohammed Al Remeithi, Executive Director of the Integrated Environmental Policy and Planning Sector at EAD, remarks that the awards have evolved from merely recognizing achievements to acting as a catalyst for significant change.

He noted that organizations continue refining their strategies each year by enhancing sustainability reporting, boosting stakeholder engagement, and employing more effective methods of assessing environmental and social impacts.

The 2026 awards provide a platform for organizations at all stages of their sustainability journey to evaluate their advancements and showcase leadership that fosters enduring results.
