Hanoi Plans 100-Year Vision for Urban Growth

Hanoi Plans 100-Year Vision for Urban Growth

Post by : Shakul

A high-level seminar held in Hanoi focused on shaping the capital’s long-term development through a 100-year planning vision. Organized with the participation of experts, scientists, and policymakers, the discussion emphasized the importance of integrating non-traditional security into urban planning strategies.

Experts highlighted key challenges facing Hanoi, including traffic congestion, environmental pollution, urban flooding, and population pressure. The proposed planning model envisions a multi-centered and resilient city structure, supported by modern infrastructure, improved public transport systems, and sustainable environmental solutions.

Participants also stressed the need to align the revised Capital Law with long-term planning goals, giving Hanoi greater autonomy in decision-making. The inclusion of non-traditional security factors such as climate risks, data safety, and disaster preparedness was identified as essential for ensuring long-term stability and development.

The seminar concluded that Hanoi must adopt innovative and flexible planning approaches to remain safe, sustainable, and competitive. Authorities are expected to incorporate expert recommendations into future policies to transform the capital into a modern, green, and resilient city.
