Top European football clubs including Manchester City, Chelsea, Inter Milan, and Juventus are set to play pre-season friendlies in Hong Kong this August, bringing world-class football action to Asia.
The matches will be part of the “Hong Kong Football Festival” hosted at the newly built Kai Tak Stadium, a modern 50,000-seat venue equipped with advanced facilities including a retractable roof and air-conditioning.
The opening fixture will see Manchester City face Inter Milan on August 1. The English champions, managed by Pep Guardiola, are expected to feature star striker Erling Haaland, adding excitement for fans.
Chelsea will then take on Juventus on August 5 to conclude the mini-tournament. Both clubs are looking to regain strong form ahead of the upcoming season, making the match highly anticipated.
Inter Milan currently lead Italy’s Serie A standings, while Juventus are pushing for a Champions League qualification spot. Chelsea, meanwhile, are undergoing a transition period with manager Liam Rosenior under pressure following recent poor results.
Fans in Hong Kong will also have the opportunity to watch open training sessions, allowing them to see top players up close, including stars like Gianluigi Donnarumma, Cole Palmer, Lautaro Martinez, and Dusan Vlahovic.
The excitement continues with additional matches, as Bayern Munich and Aston Villa have also announced a friendly in the city. The event is expected to draw massive crowds, continuing Hong Kong’s growing reputation as a major hub for international football events.
