The head of the CIA said that recent attacks by the US have caused serious damage to Iran’s nuclear program. Based on strong and trusted information, several important nuclear sites in Iran were destroyed. Because of this, it could take Iran many years to rebuild those sites and get the program running again.
The CIA also said they are still collecting more information and will keep US leaders updated. They promised to share updates with the public when it’s safe to do so because this issue is very important to the country.
At the same time, the US President said that the Secretary of Defense and top military leaders would give a press briefing. This briefing will talk about the American pilots who took part in the difficult and dangerous mission. The President said the pilots were upset because some news reports were wrong or came out too soon without knowing the real facts. He said the conference will help clear things up and give the real story.
Iran says its nuclear program is only for peaceful reasons like making energy, but experts are worried because Iran is enriching uranium to levels much higher than needed for that.
