Iran Says Foreign Minister Survives Assassination Plot Before Geneva Talks

Iran says someone tried to kill its foreign minister, Abbas Araghchi, but the plan was stopped in time. The people who protect Iran, called intelligence agents, found out about the plot and stopped it before anything bad happened. Iran believes that Israel was behind this plan.

This happened just before Mr. Araghchi was supposed to travel to Geneva, Switzerland, to meet leaders from Britain, France, and Germany. Because of these important talks, Iran’s security team was extra careful. They say there are still threats against the minister, but he continues to do his job and says he is ready to serve his country.

The government of Iran thanked its security agents for protecting Mr. Araghchi. They also warned that threats may continue, but they will stay alert to keep their leaders safe.
