IRGC Alleges Missile Strike on Amazon Data Center in Bahrain

Post by : Badri Ariffin

On July 21, the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) of Iran announced that it executed a cruise missile strike on Amazon's data facility situated in Bahrain. This information was relayed by Iran’s Fars News Agency, which holds ties with the IRGC.

Reports indicate that multiple cruise missiles were deployed towards the data center, resulting in its destruction, according to the agency.

Fars News Agency quoted the IRGC affirming, "We struck the primary data infrastructure of the American entity Amazon located in Bahrain with numerous cruise missiles, successfully demolishing it."

IRGC Claims Targeting US Military Installations

In a separate declaration, the IRGC claimed to have targeted US air defense systems and radar assets based in the areas of Muharraq and Riffa in Bahrain.

Details regarding these alleged attacks were not elaborated upon in their statement.

Kuwait Reports Strikes on Energy Facilities

In related news, Kuwaiti officials reported attacks on several power generation and water desalination facilities on Monday, inciting fires at various sites and marking the fourth attack over consecutive days.

The Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy communicated via X, stating: "Due to the ongoing Iranian aggressive actions towards Kuwait, several electricity generation and water purification stations have suffered attacks for the fourth consecutive day, leading to multiple facility fires."

In response to the damage to its electricity grid, Kuwaiti authorities have urged citizens to limit electricity use to ensure a consistent power supply across the nation.

Ongoing US-Iran Military Tensions

Military confrontations between the United States and Iran have now entered their tenth day, despite sporadic diplomatic dialogues occurring in between.

Iran has signaled its intent to retaliate against nations that permit their facilities to be utilized by US forces.

Meanwhile, the United States has stated that its military endeavors aim to "weaken Iranian forces associated with attacks on commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz," a critical artery for global maritime trade.
