Saudi Aramco’s Ras Tanura Oil Refinery Hit by Iranian Drone Strike

Saudi Aramco’s Ras Tanura Oil Refinery Hit by Iranian Drone Strike

Post by : Shakul

The Israel–Iran conflict has intensified across the Middle East, with Iran launching a major drone strike on Saudi Arabia’s Ras Tanura oil refinery, one of the world’s largest crude facilities operated by Saudi Aramco. The attack caused a large fire and forced an emergency shutdown, raising fears of broader regional escalation and disruption to global energy supplies.

The strike follows days of retaliatory actions, including Israeli airstrikes inside Iran and against Hezbollah positions in Lebanon, as well as Iranian missile and drone attacks on U.S. military installations in Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, and UAE cities. Saudi Arabia has protested by summoning Iran’s ambassador, citing repeated violations of its sovereignty and threats to Gulf stability.

The conflict has already resulted in hundreds of casualties and triggered a sharp spike in oil prices due to risks to the Strait of Hormuz and major export terminals. Gulf nations are on high alert, and analysts warn that continued attacks on energy infrastructure could have severe consequences for the global economy unless diplomatic de-escalation is achieved.
