The results of the highly competitive JEE Advanced 2026 examination were officially announced on Monday, bringing excitement and celebration to thousands of engineering aspirants across India. The examination, regarded as one of the toughest entrance tests in the country, witnessed outstanding performances from students aiming to secure admission into the prestigious Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs).
Shubham Kumar emerged as the national topper by securing All India Rank (AIR) 1 in the Common Rank List. He achieved an impressive score of 330 out of 360 marks, showcasing exceptional academic excellence and consistency throughout the examination process. His remarkable achievement has earned him recognition as the top-performing candidate in the country this year.
Among female candidates, Arohi Deshpande delivered an outstanding performance and secured the position of female topper. She achieved a Common Rank List rank of 77 and scored 280 out of 360 marks. Her success highlights the growing participation and achievements of women in India's highly competitive engineering entrance examinations.
According to the official data released with the results, a total of 56,880 candidates successfully qualified in JEE Advanced 2026. Among them, 10,107 were female candidates, reflecting a significant representation of women among successful aspirants seeking admission to India's premier engineering institutions.
The Joint Entrance Examination Advanced serves as the gateway to undergraduate programs at the IITs and several other leading technical institutes. Every year, lakhs of students prepare extensively for the examination, making it one of the most challenging academic competitions in the country.
The successful candidates will now move forward to the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) counselling process, where admissions to IITs, NITs, IIITs, and other participating institutes will be conducted based on ranks, preferences, and seat availability.
Education experts have described the results as a reflection of the intense dedication, discipline, and hard work demonstrated by students across the country. As counselling begins in the coming days, qualified candidates will be looking forward to securing seats in their preferred institutions and pursuing their dream careers in engineering and technology.
