Post by : Badri Ariffin

The upcoming 4th round of the Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Jiu-Jitsu Championship (Gi) is scheduled for June 5 to 7, 2026 at the Mubadala Arena in Abu Dhabi. Organized by the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation, this event reaffirms Abu Dhabi's status as a global hub for jiu-jitsu.

Now in its third edition, this championship serves as a vital platform for athlete growth, offering competitors of all ages consistent chances to hone their skills and compete.

Event Schedule

The fourth round will span three days and include competitors from various categories:

  • Day 1: Adults, men, and women in under-18 and masters categories

  • Day 2: Boys and girls in under-14 and under-16 classes

  • Day 3: Kids and under-12 classes

A significant number of athletes are anticipated, solidifying this event as a centerpiece of the local jiu-jitsu calendar.

Club Rankings

Teams will vie for crucial points towards the overall leaderboard. Following the last round, Baniyas Jiu-Jitsu Club currently holds the top spot, with Al Ain Jiu-Jitsu Club in second and Sharjah Self-Defence Sports Club in third place.

Officials' Perspectives

Officials from the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation emphasize the championship's important role in athlete development across all ages—from youth to adult and masters. The Gi format presents technical challenges, demanding strong control, strategy, and awareness during matches.

Coaches predict an intense competition, particularly among leading clubs striving for success in the standings. Minor technicalities could significantly influence the results.

Importance of the Event

The Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Jiu-Jitsu Championship has established itself as a key sports development initiative in the UAE, drawing athletes of all ages into a structured competitive scene and bolstering the nation’s achievements in international jiu-jitsu.
