Kuwait Customs Thwarts Drug Smuggling From London

Kuwait Customs Thwarts Drug Smuggling From London

Post by : Badri Ariffin

Kuwait's Customs authorities have successfully intercepted a postal parcel from London, thought to contain a synthetic narcotic referred to as "chemical". This operation marks a significant step in preventing drug smuggling into the country.

Carried out by the Customs Investigation and Search Department in coordination with the General Administration for Drug Control, the operation commenced when the parcel raised flags during routine checks. This prompted a thorough investigation that uncovered the illicit content.

Parcel Discovered with Drug-Infused Paper

The parcel, weighing around 800 grams, contained multiple A4 sheets that were saturated with a liquid considered to house the suspected synthetic narcotic. This striking concealment method was identified during customs evaluations, allowing authorities to seize it prior to the scheduled collection.

Suspect Taken Into Custody

To ensure the successful apprehension of the recipient, officials monitored the parcel’s delivery. Upon the arrival of the intended recipient, personnel from the General Administration for Drug Control swiftly intervened and arrested the individual at the scene.

Following the arrest, necessary legal actions were promptly initiated. Authorities announced that both the detained individual and the seized materials have been handed over to the relevant agencies for further investigation into the smuggling attempt.

Commitment to Anti-Smuggling Initiatives

Kuwait Customs has reiterated its dedication to enhancing inspection measures across all entry points to block the entrance of prohibited materials. The agency confirmed its collaboration with security forces and drug enforcement bodies to thwart smuggling efforts, uphold customs policies, and ensure public safety.
