Guangzhou, China, July 10, 2026: LEPAS, Chery Group's new mid-to-premium new energy vehicle (NEV) brand, has shipped its first batch of LEPAS L8 PHEV vehicles to the Middle East. The shipment ceremony was held at Guangzhou Nansha Port, with the vehicles set to arrive in key regional markets, including the United Arab Emirates and Kuwait.
The first delivery marks the official beginning of LEPAS's global "Year of Delivery" and represents an important step in the brand's international expansion.
With the first shipment now on its way, LEPAS has started the countdown to its official Middle East regional brand launch. During the upcoming launch event, the company will introduce its regional brand strategy and product lineup designed for customers across the Middle East.
The move reflects LEPAS's plan to expand its presence in one of the world's growing electric and hybrid vehicle markets.
Countries across the Gulf region, including the UAE and Kuwait, are introducing policies that support the adoption of new energy vehicles. These efforts include expanding charging infrastructure and offering consumer incentives such as purchase tax reductions.
As electrification continues to gain momentum across the region, LEPAS is strengthening its position by introducing a dedicated portfolio of new energy vehicles for Middle Eastern customers.
The LEPAS L8 PHEV is the first model being delivered to the Middle East. The company also plans to introduce additional models, including the L6 EV, L4 EV, and L6 PHEV, in the regional market over time.
LEPAS also confirmed that it will continue improving its intelligent driving technologies. Building on its existing intelligent parking system, the company plans to launch its upgraded Super Intelligent Valet Parking (SIVP) system in the Middle East later this year.
The LEPAS L8 PHEV is a five-seat SUV developed to offer elegant styling and everyday comfort. It is built on the Intelligent LEX Platform and features the brand's Leopard Aesthetics design language, combining smooth body lines with a bold front design.
The SUV offers a 2,800mm wheelbase, providing a spacious cabin. It is fitted with UV-insulated heat-reducing glass and an intelligent climate control system that can reduce the cabin temperature by 32°C in just five minutes, helping improve comfort in high-temperature environments common across the Middle East.
The LEPAS L8 PHEV is powered by the LEPAS Super Hybrid system, offering a comprehensive driving range of more than 1,300 kilometres. The vehicle also records a combined fuel consumption of 2.38 litres per 100 kilometres.
According to the company, the model is designed to support both daily city driving and longer intercity journeys by combining efficiency with practical performance.
LEPAS operates under the brand proposition "Drive Your Elegance" and aims to become the Preferred Brand for Elegant Mobility Life.
Its product development is based on three key pillars:
The company says these principles are designed to deliver a distinctive new energy vehicle lineup while creating an elegant mobility experience for customers worldwide.
Now in its "Year of Delivery," LEPAS is continuing its international expansion across Asia, the Middle East, Europe, and Latin America. The company plans to develop products and services tailored to the specific mobility needs of each market.
Looking ahead, LEPAS said it will continue following Chery Group's global development philosophy of "In somewhere, For somewhere, Be somewhere" while expanding localized operations and bringing its mobility solutions to more customers around the world.
