Tensions escalated in Noida as protests over wages and working conditions intensified, with both factory workers and domestic workers joining demonstrations across industrial areas.
The unrest follows violent clashes earlier in the week, during which incidents of arson and stone-pelting were reported, prompting a strong response from law enforcement agencies.
Authorities confirmed that around 350 individuals were detained in connection with the protests, as police conducted flag marches and deployed additional forces to maintain order in sensitive zones.
Workers have been demanding higher wages, improved working conditions, and better labor protections, reflecting growing dissatisfaction in key manufacturing hubs of the Delhi-NCR region.
On Tuesday, while protests were relatively scattered, domestic workers also staged demonstrations outside residential complexes, further expanding the scope of the agitation.
Police used measures such as lathi charges and tear gas to disperse crowds in certain areas, particularly where gatherings were deemed unlawful or posed a risk to public safety.
Large parts of Noida witnessed deserted streets and heightened security presence following the violence, with authorities closely monitoring the situation to prevent further escalation.
The ongoing unrest highlights deeper concerns regarding labor rights, wage disparities, and working conditions in rapidly growing industrial regions.
