Sharjah University and Tamayuz Forge Strategic MoU

Sharjah University and Tamayuz Forge Strategic MoU

Post by : Badri Ariffin

The signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between Sharjah University (UOS) and the Tamayuz Award was observed by His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and UOS President. This collaboration aims to establish a knowledge empowerment initiative to foster institutional excellence.

Enhancing Quality and Competitiveness

At the signing ceremony, His Highness acknowledged the vital role the Tamayuz Award plays in boosting institutional quality and performance. He mentioned that insights from previous discussions are being put into action to improve the award's structure.

He underscored that while excellence is present across various institutions, such awards are essential in spotlighting high achievers and nurturing a competitive landscape that promotes ongoing advancements. Participants were invited to utilize feedback from prior award cycles and encourage nominations for specialized training.

Human Capital Development Central to MoU

The agreement was signed by Hassan Yaqoub Al Mansouri, Director of the Tamayuz Award, and Professor Esameldin Agamy, Chancellor of UOS, alongside senior officials.

The MoU targets the enhancement of human capital through rigorous training in excellence frameworks, which includes:

  • Institutional Excellence Diploma tailored for organizational teams

  • Job Excellence Programme aimed at individual staff members

These initiatives seek to provide attendees with the necessary skills to create and present portfolios of excellence that meet established evaluation criteria.

Creating a Sustainable Excellence Framework

The partnership lays out a flexible blueprint for ongoing collaboration and program development, signifying a strategic move towards embedding excellence as a sustained corporate culture rather than a mere goal.

Officials highlighted that this partnership bridges the theoretical with the practical, allowing institutions to adopt systematic approaches for achieving lasting performance results.

Leadership Insights on Impact and Vision

Hassan Al Mansouri expressed gratitude for the sustained leadership support of the award, emphasizing that it drives institutions toward higher performance benchmarks and enhances inter-sector collaboration.

Professor Esameldin Agamy noted that this collaboration would empower organizations to turn excellence concepts into actionable strategies, bolstering teamwork and institutional capabilities. He recognized the award's diverse categories as a significant advantage that fosters innovation and healthy competition.

Mona Al Ghawi, General Coordinator of the Tamayuz Award, pointed out that this initiative transcends mere training. She characterized it as a foundation for constructing knowledge-based institutions responsive to change and adept at achieving sustainable development.

Targeted Training Programmes for Tangible Results

Dr. Asmaa Nusairi, Director of Continuing Education and Professional Development, elaborated on the training program design.

The Job Excellence Programme comprises 40 hours of training focused on helping employees transform personal achievements into measurable organizational impacts, featuring hands-on workshops, evaluation simulations, and crafting complete nomination files.

At the same time, the Institutional Excellence Professional Diploma offers 120 hours of training directed at excellence teams and organizational leaders, encompassing all essential award categories and involving real-world projects to guarantee direct effects in the workplace.

Advancing a Culture of Ongoing Improvement

The MoU serves as a pivotal milestone in Sharjah's mission to advance institutional excellence. Through investment in training, knowledge sharing, and strategic partnerships, the initiative aspires to cultivate agile, future-oriented institutions primed for sustained success.
